A road that collapsed in Preston because of a sinkhole is due to be repaired by the end of the week.
The council started emergency repairs to the road on Ring Way at the junction with North Road after a sinkhole caused it to collapse on Tuesday.
Lancashire County Council believe the problem was caused after a leak from a damaged drain washed away the ground that supported the road.
The sinkhole has been causing disruption and delays for commuters and drivers across Preston.
One lane at the top of Ring Way has been closed to allow workers to access the area and make repairs.
In the meantime drivers are still advised to avoid the area and have been told to expect disruption and delay.
