Family and friends, including co-stars, of Coronation Street actress Liz Dawn have paid their respects at her funeral earlier today.
A Requiem Mass took place at Salford Cathedral today, followed by a private family committal.
Dawn, who was best known for playing Vera Duckworth in the soap opera, died last week at the age of 77 after a long battle with COPD.
She played the sharp-tempered character for 30 years (from 1974 until 2008), winning two British Soap Awards for it, including Best On-Screen Partnership and Outstanding Achievement.
In the streets of Preston, people have been sharing their thoughts about the beloved actress.
Liz Dawn’s legacy as one of Coronation Street’s longest running and favourite cast members will live on for many years to come.
