Isaan Khan and Jack Portley celebrate at the NCTJ awards

TWO UCLan students celebrated at a glamorous industry event after being shortlisted for awards by the NCTJ.

Jack Portley attended to represent Dine magazine, which was produced by a group of third year students who impressed the judges by bagging an interview with Masterchef winner Jane Devonshire. Only three projects were shortlisted from the largest number of entrants since the awards began.

Current third year Isaan Khan also received a certificate for being shortlisted in the News Journalism section for his stunning portfolio of second year work. He has already had articles published in The Sun, The Daily Mirror, The Mail, Manchester Evening News and Birmingham Mail.

The National Council for the Training of Journalists awards were awarded at a prestigious ceremony at Hampton Court, London.

Now it’s fingers crossed for the BJTC awards tomorrow night. The BA Sports Journalism newsday is one of two newsdays shortlisted and MA Broadcast Journalism graduate Kath Paddison is one of two candidates nominated for the radio package award.
