Preston’s yearly, Smiles Better awards recognises people and businesses for their work in Preston’s city centre and is run by the city’s Business Improvement District.
It may come as a surprise to learn a bollard has been nominated in one of the categories. The bollard has been put up for the City Star award.
The bollard, which is notorious for being crashed in to, has its own Twitter account.
Some of the other categories include: restaurant of the year, retailer of the year and club of the year.
The awards are due to take place at the Guild Hall in Preston and will run throughout March.
