A pregnant employee was threatened by shoplifters during an attempted robbery at the JD Sports store on Fishergate, Preston.

The store last week released a CCTV image on Preston Police Facebook page of two men believed to be involved in the crime.

The two men allegedly engaged a separate worker in conversation before taking the clothing and pushing past a pregnant worker, whilst making threats to harm her.

The store manager said: “Two members of staff chased them and caught them. But one man put his hand in his pocket and claimed he had a knife.”

Several hundred pounds worth of North Face clothing was stolen from the store during the incident.

Police are appealing to speak to two males in relation to the incident, which took place on February 21.
