Although Blackpool have drawn more games than they won this season, 4 of those games have been scoreless which makes them strong at the back. They have kept seven clean sheets in 11 games this season.
As strong as they are at the back the same cannot be said up front as the team are struggling to score goals, their top scorer is Matt Cullen with three goals in 11 games.
The Seasiders are favourites going in to the game as Rochdale have only won one of their last four league games and sit three points above the relegation.
Three points separate both teams as its just the start to the new season and the table will inevitably change. A win for Blackpool will take them closer to the playoff places whereas defeat for Rochdale will leave them closer to relegation.
Rochdale’s form on the road has been a contrast compared to their home form as they have taken eight of their 12 points away from home.
Blackpool’s Donervon Daniels is available for this weekend after serving his three match ban after earning a red card in a 1-0 win against Plymouth. Captain Jimmy Ryan remains side-lined with knee troubles.
Blackpool have failed to score a goal in the last two home games against Rochdale and they will be hoping to change that on Saturday.
