Sky Bet League Two: Carlisle United vs Morecambe – Match Preview

Morecambe take on Carlisle United this weekend in a must win game for the Shrimps.

Jim Bentley’s side will be hoping to bounce back after suffering back to back defeats. They are currently 20th in League Two after 12 games.

Carlisle are 10th in the league but have lost their last three games at home.

Speaking to the Lancashire Evening Post the Morecambe manager said: “Carlisle are in decent form in the league and it’s always a big game going up there.”

Both league meetings between the two sides last season finished in a draw, although Carlisle beat Morecambe 3-2 in the Football League Trophy last month.

Team News

Morecambe manager Jim Bentley has an injury crisis to deal with ahead of this weekend. Andy Fleming, Alex Kenyon, Steven Old and Zak Mills are all ruled out.

Aaron Wildig, Vadaine Oliver, Kyle Hawley, Andrew Tutte, Kevin Ellison and Barry Roche will all be assessed before the game.

Bentley said: “I’ll be looking over what we have available so we’ll have a chat and do what we can do.”

Carlisle’s Jamie Devitt will miss the game with a calf injury while Richie Bennett and Anthony Gerrard are both injury doubts.
