Manchester City’s John Stones and Fabian Delph have withdrawn from England’s upcoming 2020 Euro Qualifiers.
Stones injured his groin in City’s 1-0 win at Bournemouth two weeks ago and Pep Guardiola urged Gareth Southgate not to pick him in his squad despite him being back on the bench in the Champions League tie against Schalke.
The FA cup semi finalists are yet to comment on the extent of Delph’s injury.
Southgate confirmed he will now have a squad of 23 as Chelsea’s Ruben Loftus-Cheek also withdrew with injury. England host Czech Republic on Friday before travelling to Montenegro for their clash on Monday.
Southampton’s James Ward-Prowse has been drafted into the squad to replace Loftus-Cheek.
