Premier League and Football League fans should support their local non-league club.

That’s according to the kitman at National League North club Altrincham.

Ahead of Non League Day on Saturday, Steve Foster has urged fans of top teams to get off their sofas and support their local club.

He said: “It’s certainly an attractive offer for fans who have season tickets for Premier League and Football League clubs.

“It will encourage them to travel for the discount.”

Steve says it’s an opportunity to get fans through the gate

It will be the 10th national Non League Day, with Guiseley just one club offering an incentive to fans of higher calibre teams.

The Yorkshire-club will be selling tickets to their game against Altrincham for £5 if fans provide a Premier League or Football League season ticket, or if they have a valid student ID.

Set up in 2010 by James Doe, Non League Day has always been scheduled to coincide with international break.

The aim is to give fans across the country the opportunity to support their local non-league club as apposed to a Premier League or Football League team.

Fans can buy merchandise from the official Non League Day website.
