A Preston pub has told punters they are not allowed to use their phones in the pub.
The Blue Bell Inn on Church Road is part of the Sam Smith’s chain which owns more than 200 pubs, all of which have been told to ban customers from using phones.
A sign has been put up telling customers that phones are no longer allowed.
In a memo sent round to all their pubs they said: “If a customer receives a call then he or she should go outside to take it in the same way as is required with smoking.”
They have also banned laptops, tablets and similar devices.
A member of staff at the Blue Bell declined to comment when Uclan Live visited the pub today.
