Preston Church Plans to Livestream Services

A church in Preston is planning to livestream their events on Facebook to connect worshippers who may be isolating due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Preston Central Methodist Church will be livestreaming their ‘Night Church’ community service from 9pm tonight, in which viewers can request a candle be lit and enjoy the music being played in the church.

In addition, their Sunday worship will also be available to watch via their Facebook page.

Along with other Methodist churches in the Preston district, the church has decided to close their doors in reaction to the government’s advice regarding social distancing.

The church said:

“Following on from the UK government’s advice on containing the coronavirus outbreak and for people to avoid social gatherings, the Methodist Church in the Preston Ribble Circuit has taken the decision to close all its buildings. We pray that you will keep well at this time of national crisis, as we seek God’s help to endure and to do what we need to do to see this through.”

The church says that the situation will be reviewed on 30th March, but that it looks likely that they will remain closed for much longer.
