Despite the current coronavirus outbreak, community spirit is at an all-time high.

Over 400,000 people signed-up to volunteer to help the NHS in just one day.

Tracy Byrne, from Lytham St. Annes, shares her experience with volunteering in her local community.

Tracy has been volunteering for 18 months, starting out in a soup kitchen in Blackpool.

It was here that she met a gentleman who didn’t have enough food to feed his young children.

Members of her community came to help, filling 6 Aldi shopping bags with food, sweets and treats.

Tracy also shares her experience with the coronavirus outbreak, and how with the help of others, she was able to deliver care packages to Blackpool Victoria hospital.

To garner the community support, Tracy uses Facebook groups such as ‘We Are Lytham’.
