League One: Blackpool look to bounce back against Lincoln

Written by Liam Gilsenan

Blackpool will be looking to bounce back after a difficult 2-0 defeat to league rivals Gillingham last weekend as they host high flying Lincoln City at Bloomfield Road this Saturday.

The Seasiders weren’t too bad against Gillingham having over 70% of the ball and threatened the goal with 12 attempts but ultimately came away with nothing to show for their dominance as Gillingham’s resolute football saw them come away with the three points.

Neil Critchley’s side have had a bumpy start to their campaign with defeats away from home to Plymouth and Gillingham sandwiched between a home victory over Swindon Town.

The Tangerines currently find themselves in 13th place in League One despite preseason expectations of challenging for a playoff place although, there is a long way still to go.

Lincoln have had a fine time of it so far, three wins from three see this weekend’s visitors in second place in the league.

Blackpool have good history against The Imps, the sides have met 54 times with the Seasiders coming out on top 34 times.

The most recent clashes between the two sides came last season in League one Blackpool took the first fixture 2-1 and Lincoln taking the reverse fixture 1-0.

My prediction for the game is a 3-1 win for Blackpool, the game will be a scrappy affair but the Tangerine faithful will want a response and I feel a response is what they will get.
