Clitheroe Football club will host Trafford FC on Saturday in the Northern North West counties league.
The Blues come into the game with a fine run of form after wins over Brighouse and Prescot Cables.
While Trafford find themselves with a slow start to the season, two draws over Tadcaster Albion and Workington and currently sit in 12th place in the League.
In previous years Trafford has enjoyed success over the Lancashire club over the last few years, the North has managed to score more goals then Clitheroe in their previous meetings. The Blues have managed to score 6 goals in their previous meetings, whereas, Trafford has managed to score 9 goals against them.
In total these two North-West based clubs have played each other five times, once in the Northern Premier League and four times in the NPL Division One North.
Overall, Clitheroe have only managed to beat the Manchester-based team only twice.
Trafford however, have enjoyed success winning on three occasions. In none of the encounters between these two has the match ever finished a draw.
This gives fans hope that the game should be exciting, a stalemate looks to be out of the question.
In their last game against Prescott Cables, Clitheroe’s Ross Dent managed to score his first goal since returning to the club in the summer and is hoping to carry that form into this game.
Clitheroe’s goal was the first goal that Prescott has conceded this season so far.
Trafford however, faced heartbreak in their last match after an 86th-minute goal was conceded against Marske United.
Trafford faced Chester midweek in a two-hour practice match where they again faced a defeat by two goals.
Danny Caldecott will be hoping that his men can turn their fortune around this weekend with a win over the Lancashire club.
