A Preston beautician, who had to turn to cleaning throughout lockdown, has said she is “on cloud nine” to be reopening.
Today is a landmark day across the country as we move another step closer to being out of lockdown.
People are now able to go the gyms, beer gardens and hairdressers.
Heather Milner, who founded Fleur Beauty Box said: “Being able to reopen is the best feeling ever. I feel like I’m on cloud nine.”
Miss Milner did not qualify for any government help and had been doing a cleaning job to earn money, despite being a fully trained beautician with over 12 years’ experience.
She began to take bookings a week ago when she confirmed she was going to be reopening on the 12th of April via social media.
The salon, in which she is the only employee, is fully booked for the next 10 days and only has a couple of free spaces over the next six weeks.
Coronavirus safety measures have been put in place with only one person allowed in the shop at once, masks have to be worn and the toilets have been closed.
Despite being very happy to have reopened, her busy schedule means she’s holding off celebrating at the pubs until the weekend.
