Fylde Wheelchair Rugby team play their first ever game

Fylde RFC Community Foundation have set up a rugby team to allow wheelchair-bound people of all ages to take on other teams around the north-west, writes Ollie Walton.

The new side, coached by former Paralympian Myles Pearson, lost their first ever game 38-35 against West Coast Burn.

But the result couldn’t take the shine off the day, with England and Fylde legend Sir Bill Beaumont – Honorary Community Foundation President – praising an “outstanding” day.
