Kompany takes Manager of the Month for the third time in three months

Burnley manager Vincent Kompany has won his third Manager of the Month award in a row, and his fourth for the season.

The Belgian led his side through another month without a defeat, meaning they are yet to lose a game since their 5-2 loss against Sheffield United at the beginning of November.

With four wins from six Championship games, the Clarets sit 10 points ahead of second-placed Sheffield, with 11 games to go in the season.

Coming up against competition such as Blackburnโ€™s Jon Dahl Tomasson for the award, Kompany said it felt good to take the honours once more.

“I’m really pleased to win this award again, up against some great managers in the Championship,โ€ he told burnleyfootballclub.com.

“It was a good month for us, with some difficult away trips but I’m really proud of the side for continuing the hard work and consistently producing.

“A mention and thanks to all the staff who have played a part to this again; the coaches, physios, medical, sports science, analysts, kit staff, grounds staff and everyone else who played a part.”

Burnley face a visit from Wigan on Saturday, where the Latics will be looking to get a result and claw their way closer to safety.
